Why all the hating on Max Kellerman? Lennox Lewis is an awful color commentator, yet time and time again I see people ripping into Kellerman. There is a reason why HBO has Larry Merchant working part time, and I'm pretty sure Jim Lampley has something to do with it. Larry Merchant has been around for ages and for that he deserves our respect. But his "poetry" mentioned on this board is now forced and many closing moments between him and Lampley are awkward.

hey ronald, i think your question is in response to recent statments i put forth about max kellerman.. i agree lennox is not the best commentator.. but what does color have to do with any of this? was that a racist remark? your an idiot for saying that.. kelllerman is bias against certain fighters.. he tries to sound sophisticated about a sport he thinks he knows. he disrespects fighters and he says things that shouldnt be said...lennox lewis is a WORLD CHAMPION.. he deserve more respect than kellerman..

Because Lennox is black. You need to watch what you ask... I think you can catch a federal case for questioning why Max and Lennox are judged differently. Its called affirmative action. Lennox is better for the job once his bonus points are given.
Lennox Lewis was a world champion heavyweight boxer. Max Kellerman, to my knowledge, is only a commentator who does know a lot about the sport. The people who dislike him are usually people who are fans of boxers Max feels are either over-rated or came out on the wrong side of a decision Max agreed with.
As for Larry Merchant, I think there was some kind of contract dispute & HBO wants to bring in younger commentators. Larry has many good years ahead of him if HBO would simply wise-up.

How can anyone try and compare Kellerman to Lewis. He have laced up gloves for years and fought good champions. What have Max done. Im an amateur boxer and i know i can do a better job then Max. Where did HBO get this guy from? i would like to see Max put on sum gloves and try to fight a heavy bag, i bet the heavy bag would win.
