in private conversation?
On several occasions I have heard people on the bus, in the shop etc complaining when a Pole, Lithuanian etc is having a private conversation in their own language. Are we Irish still that nosey that we have to be able to overhear and understand every conversation around us?
Shiningapprentice: Most of the Poles over here speak better English then the Irish do. They take classes, they make Irish friends. They integrate and that is how they learn the language. You can't expect people to cast aside everything from their own country when they move.
