Why do people bother arguing about things like religion on the internet?

I mean atheists or believers, we're not going to change anybody's opinion on the internet. Why is there so much fighting? If you want to make a difference and sway someones belief go out and participate..

(And I know I said bad things about believers and done nothing so it's my fault too)
It just occurred to me how pointless it is though...
 
Good question!

I come here to learn what goes through the minds of non believers; to share thoughts with my bros in Christ; and hopefully along the way maybe be a good example of what Christ really is so that some may want to find out more.

Deep down I love it here. We are where we want to be.
 
If you don't use your free speech there will be no opposition to the people who use their free speech to spread delusions like religion. The internet is just one media that can be used.
 
Yeah- but it's better than arguing about it in person....

Let's face it - words may fly, but it's hard to punch someone through a screen! (LOL)
