I am a GM worker and have been for 14 years. I currently make $29.70 per hour. I started out making about $12 per hour in 1995. I think it's ridiculous for people to count legacy costs as part of my wage. Should we include electricity costs because I use light to do my JOB? Should we charged for the air we breathe while at work? How about rent, I mean I do spend over half my life at work so why should I not have to pay rent?
Quit being JEALOUS people. I didn't create high oil/gas prices and GM isn't having problems due to their own decisions. The WORLD economy is bad right now and even TOYOTA who everyone thinks is PERFECT has announced it's first loss since 1941? I also think it's unfair for people to think we should take huge pay cuts when most of us have houses/cars/children which we have a certain budget for which is based on our 10-30 years of working hard for it.
