Why do people always assume i have financial aid?

Why do people always assume that black students are only in college because they have finacial aid?
When i went to drop a class the counselor i had to go to gave me a long lecture on the after effects of dropping a class. Then he was like "you know that this may affect your finacial aid right" I was like"dude im paying my way through school, my parents make too much for me to even be eligible for finacial aid, you assumed that because i'm black right?", then he turned bright red. This isnt the first time somone has just assumed i had finacial aid either. It annoys the crap out of me.
 
I guess they are just morons. I'm white and on financial aid and student loans. You can't start caring about what idiots think. They're idiots that's their job! haha
 
MOST students in college have financial aid, even if it is just a little, something like 85 or 90%, your race doesn't matter. Loans are also under the category of financial aid, it isn't all need based.
