Why do NOT SO GREAT authors get published?

Its just me!

For instance, Meg Cabot...or maybe Stephenie Meyer. You look at their ideas, and you just think they're wonderful, but the way they put it on the pages...meh.

Please don't take offense, not to anyone who actually likes their writing

But...you look at all these amazing authors who have beautiful lyrical writing, and they don't get noticed. I myself have read many of Cabot's books, and the whole of Meyer's Series.

I'm fifteen, so...
I don't know? They are nice books, but I mean...are they really the best out there? Does this mean that authors with good talent who write novels that aren't "teenage," approved will never get published? Only authors who have "teenage," approved novels, but mediocre writing will get published?

I don't know...I would like your input on this.

It's about who you know, and its also about money. What kinds of books will people buy? Think about it: Are more people reading Stephanie Meyer or the latest in historical fiction? There are phenomenal books that published because of their content instead of their possible popularity, but if you look at the "big publishers," they're all about the money. So sad, yet so true.
