Why do my games freeze for Xbox 360?

For some reason, a few of my games have started to freeze on my Xbox 360. GTA 4 freezes almost all the time now (randomly). It used to be fine, almost never freezing at all. I rented NFS: Undercover and the game kept freezing on the first race in different locations. Left 4 Dead used to freeze all the time in the loading screens and in game but is mostly fine now. Gears of War 2 lags sometimes in Single player and local multiplayer games with bots. I've tried cleaning the discs and checking for scratches but they are fine. What's up with my console?
 
Call Microsoft at 18004myxbox and they'll replace it for free there sometimes is a disc reading error randomly and they said that they would replace any consoles that had that function.
