Why do men get soooo angry when we slam their car doors? Like its going to shatter?

A car door has hinges and moving parts, the hinges hold up to 90 pounds of dead metal weight. Your slamming the damned door increases that, plus force. So, kid...weight plus force plus moving parts and gravity makes things break and wear faster. Is that simple enough?

Because my car costs $70 000...don't slam it! Even if it cost $1000 don't slam it! It's rude...plus it may not seem loud from the outside, but it vibrates and is loud from the inside.

It's not just men and you shouldn't slam any door. It does cause increased wear and tear. No, it won't shatter, but there are many mechanisms and their mountings that can become damaged by the jolt, and cars these days do not require the hefty fling to close as they once did. Just don't slam the door. How hard can that be?

I understand both points of view.

On the one hand, your father is right. It IS possible to shatter a car door window if it is left down part way and the door is slammed.

On the other hand, I know that people of smaller stature (both men and women) have a hard time simply closing a door firmly without slamming it. You have to sort of work-up the muscle power to get the thing moving with inertia to make it close right. Men on the other hand usually have more muscle on them and it is easier to close the doors without slamming (using inertia).
