Why do men assume girls who complain of period complications are just

looking for sympathy/being dramatic? Yes, some girls have wonderfully complication-free periods, but others are in extreme pain...I've known both sides of the coin because my periods up until I was 19 were perfect. I had no cramping, no mood swings, no bloating that I noticed anyway, etc...I just "plugged things up" and forgot all about it honestly. For the past 8 months, this has all changed and I started getting majorly sick when I was about to start my period...I get nauseous to the point of gagging, my abdomen feels like someone's stabbing a knife into it, and I don't want to talk to anyone- not because I'm in a hormonally-induced bitchy mood but because I'm in physical pain. Last week I was a few days away from starting my period, and I had to leave my class and go home because I began developing a fever, felt as though 20 knives were repeatedly jabbing me on the sides, and was on the verge of throwing up.

I also have a friend who used to not be able to do anything but lay in bed with heating pads because any slight movements put her into extreme physical pain. For a lot of girls, not all luckily, it really is miserable. So why do guys constantly mock girls and tell us that we just use periods as an excuse to manipulate them?
