Why do many theists try to tell non-religious people they've been brainwashed by

scientists? Is it because they don't understand science and brainwashing is the only way they know how to convince people of something, and that's what's been done to them from an early age? I personally think it's stupid, because I accept science because I understand it, and I was never indoctrinated by it.
It's not a generalization, because I used the term, "many".

@ 5%, in science, a theory is fact. Notice how gravity is also, "just a theory"?

It’s just a silly and very lame attempt at a comeback that the religious are brainwashed.
Both ideas are equally stupid. There is no conflict between science and religion - it’s a myth shared by extremists.
Nobody seems to have read articles or books by particle/theoretical physicist and Anglican priest John Polkinghorne.

And so say she in her wisdom" Ask not the idiot to explain that which he has no real answer, for all you will get is nonsense. Instead ask why does the idiots thoughts and suggestions worry you so, for know you not the truth of things?"

Sorry, not trying to push here I promise, I just find wisdom in the statement. Sometimes trying to figure out why people think a certain way when it makes no sense what so ever really is not worth wasting time on IMO, so I just let it go. Science is needed, agreed, and it does not ask anything from anyone at all, in all honesty.

I think they do it because non religious people are always calling Christians brainwashed. They're just trying to flip it around on us. It's pathetic really. It reminds me of what children do. Seeing as how one does not need to be brainwashed in order to accept verifiable facts...it's an absurd attempt at turnabout at that.

They know science is true but they don't want to accept it because it will interfere with their archaic belief system that has been debunked.
