no, we realize that petroleum isn't just used in cars, but right now it's only indispensable as an energy source for transportation, which is unfortunately what it is most commonly used for.

there's really no argument against working toward alternative energy, the only issue is whether or not it's too soon. eventually we will have no need for petroleum, and it would be to our benefit to have it as soon as possible.
