Why do jeeps keep there value so well?

wranglers seem to do but everything else doesnt my dad bought a 04 grand cherokee last year about this time and he was going to get a truck but couldnt because no one was accepting trade in's but now with way gas has gone down its a bit better hes jeep was was17,900 out the door same dealer was going to give him 8,900 for it and only has 56,000miles. thats pretty bad when we privately sold our 01 grandcherokee same options with 130,000miles for 7,500
 
Jeeps are good cars the reason the hold their value is that people like them so much that they will keep them. I have had two jeeps and in the time I have had them I want drive anything else. IT"S A JEEP THING.
