because they didn't have enough money or whatever to get a visa and come over here legaly, and it was SO miserable that they just had to come illegaly.

In most countries, including Mexico, the citizens do not have the freedom or socioeconomic status to influence their government. They come here to have more control over their lives and escape economic and government oppression
