why do i seem to fall for the eccentric ones ?

i have realised that i tend to fall for the eccentrics people such as the mad hatter (johnny depps version/tim burton) and and heath ledgers joker i don't find these people attractive when they are normal people (out of role) i only find them attractive when they are in role i cannot understand why this is any ideas peeps?xxx
