...filed claim.? I am being asked to do a statement under oath soon for an insurance claim I recently reported. I already did a recorded statement with my adjuster. I recieved a letter from the insurance companies attorney saying they discovered reason to have me do this statement along with a proof of loss form????? What is this all about?

It's what they do because there is no proof of the burglary. The burglar is still at large. They need something that says, there actually is a burglar. But it's mainly because, if they found there was no burglar, they could not charge you with insurance fraud as a crime, since they would not have any proof that you ever filed such a claim for a court of law. Anyway, that's what they do. They don't have a smashed car or a burned building etc.....

They want you to give your statement under oath because they suspect you are not telling the truth. Making you give the statement under oath means that it's perjury - for which you can go to jail - if they can prove you are lying.
