Why do i have to keep topping up my car's engine with oil?

MY ENGINE IS NOT LEAKING OIL, THERE IS NO WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST, yet once a month or so i have to top it up as oil pressure is low and the dipstick level is really low.

The car itself is running beautifully. I'm mystified so any help will be appreciated.

All cars use oil at a lesser or greater rate. Some use so little top ups are rarely or never necessary between oil changes. Generally up to 1 litre of oil can get burned in the cylinders per 1000 miles covered. Any more than this and you have valve guide, bore or piston ring damaage that will eventually kill the engine if not repaired.
