why do i get the hourglass every time i go to send a pic on my blackberry?

title says it all. it used to never do it. then it would do it, id delete all my pics and it would stop. then it always did it on large, and now it always does it on medium even after deleting pics. im tired of sending tiny pics just to avoid the hourglass. can anyone help? my card the pics get saved to is completely wiped and i do a weekly battery pull
