Why do I feel always low when im chatting with my bf, but i love him.?

I dont feel secure with his love,coz he always say he cant promise me the future, for no one knows the future, but how hard is it to just say, that hey i'll love you always, or i wanna spend my life with you. When I tell him that, he says its smothering, does he really love me?
