Why do I always sprain/strain my hand? is there anything i can do?

Well to start, I have weak wrist. Now I know when I do something like cheerleading or tumbling, I have to wear wrist braces. and they still hurt. but whenenver i do anything using my wrist, like a simple push up or just leaning on it wrong. I always end up straining it and it hurts really bad to even bend it. is there anything i can do? or could this be worse then a sprain?
