Why do Harley Davidson Riders have to rev up their bikes when stopped at a red light,

I tend to think they do it to attract attention, saying "Look at me, I'm better than you cause I own a Harley"

Some are for attention.... but the real reason for those not looking for attention is a quick goose makes it easier to get into gear. Doesn't slam as hard. Also for that matter, you'll hear some goose it coming to a stop, makes it easier to find neutral. Not quite as tight clearances as on newer/sport bikes

Because it is the coolest thing in the universe to them. And they actually think cute chicks are finding it cool and other guys who aren't old, fat and too lazy to shift are dieing with envy.

Those wiggers who have cars that shake apart with the base from their stereos will soon be keeping the doo rag but turning in the stereo for a Harley, Snoop Dog for Bob Segar and their falling off the butt pants for assless chaps. Same guy, different stage in life.

Perhaps that brand of bikes is prone to stalling, so the riders need to rev up the engine to avoid embarrassment when the light turn green. :-)

Simply to show off. I've ridden H-Ds for years and haven't found a reason to twist the wrist at every stop sign, stop light or when slowing down.

It drowns out the noise of oil dripping on the ground and parts vibrating loose and falling off
