Why do guys make a joke out of EVERYTHING?

Why do guys do this, especially when you tell them something serious or that bothers you..and they turn it into a joke...it just makes it worse make s me even more upset and angry. Why are SOME guys so insensitive and cannot deal/address issues which are serious without making a joke out of it?
Doing this just make it WORSE guys!
I do have a sense of humour and I can joke and be silly when I need to...just don't get why some guys turn serious things into a joke like if you are upset about something they say something really insensitive

And yes I do tell him it bothers me he just does it anyway

It's how many of us guys deal with fear, stress, and uncertainty. We don't mean anything by it usually, but we don't see anything wrong with it unless you say something
