Why do Greeks get credit for inventing civilization?

Meaning why is every word in the English language and other languages always have some type of Greek word as its original meaning? And why is Greece always considered as the place where civilization began when humanity or the first human being on Earth was born Ethiopia? And the first societies in the world were in Egypt, Mesopotamia (Iraq, Iran), Lebanon, and rest of the Middle East and North Africa and did not begin in Greece until later? Why were the Greeks also given credit for beginning some of the earliest international trading when the Phoenicians were trading with the world long before the Greeks? Lastly why was the Bible translated in Greek from the Hebrew? Wouldn't it had been translated into Egyptian or Coptic language since Egypt is closer to Palestine where Jesus preached? I'm not hating on Greece I'm just curious to know why Greece is always mentioned as the cradle of civilization when Egypt, Ethiopia and Mesopatamia existed way before it.
