why do girls love sport players?

i know girls fall head over heels for football players and stuff but i have like 2 firends who are on the football team and are complete assholz to their girls.
im more of a funny-little-nerd i enjoy doing special efects and editing videos nd building computers.
it seems i make people laugh all the time and say i should be a comdeian but its not like anyone has even told me a girl "maybe" likes me or would wanna go out with me and same with some of my other firends who help me out with my videos is it seriously that bad to not play some sport? (im not fat at all im 6'2 and weigh 178)
 
Dude that's only in high school, in which no one has any game, and being a jock is basically the main route to getting girls. In the real world, your sense of humor is gonna attract a lot of women, especially if you can couple it with some swagger and confidence. Also, I'm gonna assume you're an intelligent guy, so keep working hard in school and try to get a good job some day. Real-life women are more concerned with your cash flow than "popularity," which doesn't exist after high school. I'm in college and I've already noticed these things, and I can only wonder what it's gonna be like in the full adult world.

Edit: I've noticed a few answers from girls that say it's because the jocks are in good shape...there's nothing stopping you from going to the gym too, even if it's just to go on the treadmill for 15 minutes, and to do some weight lifting and other exercises for 30 minutes. You won't be looking like a linebacker, but you'll at least get yourself looking more appealing.
