This based off a previous question but I've separated it in order for it to not be a wall. I think it's also more user-friendly.
I'm done and fed up with this whole issue. I was neutral on this issue. Why should I care? I'm livid over this. I was caught in another heated crossfire over this. I don't why I fall in this kind of stuff but it just came up and there was another group who made fair points I admit but mostly drowned by just whining and complaining. I don't have a problem with gay people and I don't care if you're gay that's your problem.
At the same time, I am sick of hearing the b*@%! and moan over this. I'm a firm believer that marriage in itself is stupid. There is a reason that marriages between straight couples are decreasing. There are many rights afforded to married couples that unmarried couples can't get and I concede that. However, the economic advantages and social advantages of not marrying and just using the alternative method of living together are profound.
I've seen many marriages including my parents fail and endure nasty divorces. Can't we all just dodge that and just not marry? I have a girlfriend and we have been dating for awhile and she is wife material. She's like the perfect woman you want to have as your wife BUT I'm not marrying her. We both have the same sentiments. Life partner or significant other is a much better title. I'm sorry I refuse to have another person pretty much "linked" with me and ruin my life. Marriage you are "one" with the other person.
I hear the argument that it's just a sign that we are equal and that's the dumbest crap I have ever heard. If you need gay marriage to consider yourself equal you quite frankly are pathetic and need to find some self-esteem somewhere.
All in all, I have changed my stance. I'm pro-gay marriage. I'm not going to fight for it but if it's ever up for grabs by voting or what not then I will vote yes because I hope you get it. Enjoy the "privilege" that more and more straight couples are declining to partake in. I hope you can marry your "soul-mate" and rot with them. Please indulge yourself and I hope it fails and suffer the same BS that more and more straight married couples do. You'll find out why the divorce rate is increasing. Ignorance is bliss. The idea of marriage is a decaying concept which should be left in a hole to fully decompose. If you want to rot with another person who can easily do things in your name go ahead be my guest.
