If being is really not that big of a deal then why do gays and lesbians have such a big issue with people's prefference if they do or do not like the gay lifestyle? I mean if someone said they did not like that I wear contacts instead of glasses I wouldn't have any different feelings with that. One of my friends does not like gays or lesbians but I never have felt upset by this and I am gay. Isn't it her thoughts and she's not mean to me about it. Why is this an issue for other gays and lesbians on simlpe prefferences.

I really don't care if somebody supports me or not as long as they don't get in the way of the rights I deserve.
I have so many issues with this statement i don't know where to begin. The fact is everyone deserves to have equal rights and respect. And if you are homosexual like you say, how can you not be hurt by your "friend" saying she doesn't like homosexuals. You are a homosexual, if she doesn't like people of this sexuality she can't really be your friend, can she? Aren't you lucky your "friend" isn't mean to you because your gay, oh wait hang on, she's meant to be your friend she isn't supposed to be mean. In some ways you are lucky in the past homosexuals have been jailed, bashed and killed. But then again women couldn't vote then either and their only real purpose was to look after their husband and please him. But wait homosexuals are still treated poorly and don't have equal rights to straight couples. And yet when i turn 18 i will be able to vote. The world can claim to have come a long way and it has but no quite far enough. Chances are discrimination of any kind will always exist that doesn't make it right.

People are entitled to their own opinions.
But gays, lesbians, and bisexuals have been getting
crap from alot of people over the years just because they love
differently. and its not even differently. Its natural.
We learned in history class that way back when it wasn't uncommon
for men and women to be attracted to eachother. That it was almost expected out of most royals and such. I don't know what the big deal is. Your sexuality is your own business. No one should have to take crap from someone just because they have a different lifestyle than the kind that reality expects. We can be whoever we wanna be.
So although people are entitled to their own opinions, its how they use their opinions in which it offends people that matters. Its not so much that they don't agree with it, its the fact that they don't agree with it because they never took the time to get to know about it.

Its the same as us not liking the 'straight' lifestyle.Its offensive and rude and most of the people who don't like our 'lifestyle' are the ones who try to make us be something we're not.
They also always have something to say about our relationships and try to tell us that we 'need' to try to date a guy or girl and that we're going to hell.
