Why do cricketers wear such ugly clothes?

Cricket used to be a gentleman's sport. Now it's full of yobs dressed in ugly multicoloured clothes bought from a bankrupt-stock High Street retailer. And all this rubbish about wearing head protectors really is surely cowardice. Why can't people revert to the decent standards of yesteryear?
 
Gentlemen, welcome to the new era. Its business now. Megabucks are determining the fate of the game.
