Why do creationists make it seem like evolution is a topic of debate?

Most creationists have a combination of the following:

- Not understanding evolution
- Not knowing that speciation (evolution) has been directly observed
- Not knowing what a theory, in science, is
- An agenda to show that evolution is wrong in some way
- An agenda to show that creationism is credible in some way

Creationists are not posing this question so a debate can ensue Most would not agree with your premise that it is a valid theory. Thus , the debate is fueled with no side convincing the other. One way to quell it would be not to bring it up again but agree to disagree.

Although I agree with evolution for the most part, but why wouldn't they? It goes against what they believe in kind of drastically.
