Why do conservatives believe all media outlets are biased EXCEPT for Fox News, which...

...is fair and balanced? Isn't that like the guy who tries to pick up women by telling them that all men are pigs EXCEPT for himself, so she's lucky she can trust him to be a gentleman?

Yes, it is. I saw the Michael Moore movie today & the republicans are the people that really need to see it cause it would give them clarity. If they really think our country is in danger it can help them see it is up to them to save it. Well, hopefully dems can do it alone but it would nice if the 99% of us would fight that 1% instead of being used by them & made fools of the way republicans are doing.

Your analogy leaves a lot to be desired
Experience : I have watched them all, I am not counting those who do not claim to be objective, they have opinion shows and as long as you know up front that is what it is, I have no problem with that. I have checked on news reports from all of the mainstream media and Fox. Fox is the only one who is consistently accurate without injecting their biases, as Couric, Gibson, Willaims do and they claim to be journalists.

<claps> Nice try.

We believe they are fair and balanced because unlike liberal news outlets they actually show proof.

Liberals do not believe anything that does not give them the warm fuzzies. So anything that does not feed their fragile liberal ego's must be wrong evidence be damned.

Set the Way Back Machine for the day our troops broke into Baghdad. On Fox, they had live coverage of the event, I sat there watching as one of our soldiers ran into the city. Over on CNN, they were totally ignoring this and running ANOTHER report on some female marine who hurt her foot when she was taken prisoner by Saddam's troops weeks before. Up until that time, CNN had made sure to report every single mistake and set-back of our military, but when they had a chance to report a victory, they ignored it.

Do I really have to spell it out for you in more detail, the reason I believe only Fox News is fair and balanced, not to mention pro-American?

Well lets see.

They went and looked back at both the NJ Governors sex scandal and the South Carolina governor sex scandal.

The NJ was a democrat, the south carolina governor was a republican.

They found, between ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN

That in all the stories on the Democrat NJ governor, they mentioned his political affiliation, just 4 times.

When talking about the south carolina governor story, they mentioned his political affiliation every single story.

When listening to ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, you will never hear them call someone Left Wing, Left wing extremist, Liberal.

They are always " moderates " or Progressives.

But you will hear them call someone a Right wing, right wing extremist, conservative, conservative extremist all the time.

Using any rational or scientific basis, there is an extreme left tilt to the major media outlets.

To say otherwise, is like denying the holocaust.

"The hostile media effect, sometimes called the hostile media phenomenon, refers to the finding that people with strong biases toward an issue (partisans) perceive media coverage as biased against their opinions. Proponents of the hostile media effect argue that this finding cannot be attributed to the presence of bias in the news reports, since partisans from opposing sides of an issue rate the same coverage as biased against their side and biased in favor of the opposing side.[1] The phenomenon was first proposed and studied experimentally by Robert Vallone, Lee Ross and Mark Lepper [2]...."

No its based on fact sweetheart, Fox News has the highest ratings for a reason, They are fair and balanced and have the best looking women..

Because they are. And it is. And no, it's not. Fox may be run by conservatives, but in case you haven't noticed, they are constantly letting liberals onto their programs, letting them have their say. And, if I'm not much mistaken, they usually lose the debates (The liberals, I mean). Ever turn on CNN, NBC, MSN, ect.? Have you seen some of their reports on the town hall meetings? If so, you might have noticed how whenever they 'interview' a conservative, the reporters cut off whatever they're saying, and make them out to be crazy extremist protesters, (when they're really just mad because they haven't said two words without being cut off?)

I never thought that... I just know FOX new is bias in a way that suits me... I would rather listen to them rather than MSNBC where I'm wrongly accused of thing as being a "Education Hating inbred redneck" - Keith Olberaman

It's a persecution thing. The Right is never truly happy unless they're the victim of an enemy. For them, this gives their views merrit. In their convoluted logic, the more they're "oppressed" the more they must be on to something.

Also they like their news to be fed to them in the most "infotainment" way possible. This way they can simply absorb the emotion of the story rather than the facts. And Fox News obliges!

Psychiatrists will tell you that people who lie the most have the most trouble believing the truth when they hear it.
