Why do college students tend to buy a large flat screen tv?

I currently work with college students as Resident Advisor... I have noticed that most of the college students owned a large flat screen tv in their own room... it doesn't make any sense... Aren't they in college to further their education rather than watching tv?


anyway, I am curious why college students tend to buy a large flat screen tv than the normal one?
