I started having hip pain in both hips,so is this normal with back issues? I am wondering if it is a back issue.

Hi Dee, my hips hurting was my biggest complaint along with my thighs.. Could not sleep on my sides and my hip pain radiated around my whole pelvic section. I am 3 months post op 360 fusion and when I was first diagnosed with this problem, I asked every doctor I saw why my hips hurt so much. I never even thought it could be my back but they assured me it was. I have gotten relief after surgery but they still ache some days. Have you been diagnosed with a back problem? I had a totally blown disc l3-4 and spondy from an injury. I wish you luck and ask any question you may have regarding the back. This board is filled with very knowledgeable people. Linda

Same here. Had a XLIF Fusion on L4/L5 and after that my hips are killing me. It's 17 months post opp and it's getting worse. Now I have pain going down my legs and can't sit for long, stand for long. I can't even lay down and sleep because it hurts so much. You'll roll over and the pain will go from your leg to your foot and no matter what position you can't make it stop hurting.

I tell the VA 'doctor' about it and nothing. I've got so much scar tissue on the nerves from all the procedures, failed microdiscectomy, metal fragments left in my back.....

My wife is getting mad at me because I can't do anything and can't get on a normal sleep pattern. I have to stay up until I literally collapse because the pain now is so great I can't lay down and fall asleep.

Best of luck to you.
