Why do Austrian scholars believe that war does not help the economy?

but it was entry into WWII that lifted the US out of the depression? More jobs geared towards industrial production and a war time economy would mean more purchasing power for the average person and thus stimulate the economy?
Boss, how did the economy improve? by FDR's reforms?
