Why do athesists always complain about religious people pushing their religion on...

...them when...? ...a lot of times when they ask a serious religion based question, atheist will come with, "why do you believe in fairy tales," "its not real," etc. etc.

This applies to some, not all, mind you.
I know their is quite a difference between the two, but I've seen a lot of atheists telling Christians to leave them alone and accept the fact that they do not believe in a deity, when they'll go right back calling the Christian stupid and delusional for believing...

I use the argument to counter anyone who posts a version of Pascal's wager, asking if I should then worship every single deity ever known to man, and make up a few extra, "just in case" and then I ask them if that is the reason they follow their religion, "just in case". And, when asked to prove that god doesn't exist, I ask them to prove Bigfoot isn't in my backyard. This is to give perspective on the question they first posed.

and today, I'll probably be more aggressive since I just answered a question about whether single gay atheists should be able to raise a child, which I am and which I did, and I found that there are some who would have tried to take my child from me. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm gay, or just because I'm atheist, or just because I'm single, or any combination of those things, but the fact that there are some who would have, without even getting to know me, is quite offensive and hurtful.

I completely agree. I think everyone should have a right to what they believe in regardless of religion or non religion. Everyone has that right. If you're going to talk about how you hate when others push something on you, don't push it on them yourself.

This applies to some, not all, mind you. ;)
