@ lainiebsky It's a pretty impressive list don't you think? Like I said...I have WAY more than this if you would like them. Yahoo answers would only allow me to fit the ones that you see. Sorry. The point is that I'm sick to death of hearing atheists and agnostics who think they are the only ones with intelligence and that to believe in a God makes you an absolute moron. I would say that all those "phd's" and other titles up there would beg to differ with those assumptions. You get on here and say, "well.....well.......well.......we have more smarter people than you do...nah nah nah nah boo boo!" That's funny.
@ old spuds - Oh, you so atheists don't believe in other things either such as cutting and pasting! Wow. You guys don't believe in ANYTHING do you. You only believe in YOU because you're, "Good Enough, Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like you!"

But then again we wouldn't know if you're telling the truth because you HIDE all of your questions and answers. What are you scared of people to see. Live in the light brother.....live in the light!

The percentage of scientists who believe in a god is much smaller than the percentage of the general population that believes in a god. That's pretty significant.

It's also true that as intelligence and education levels rise, rates of atheism rise.

If I provided a list of scientists who are atheists would you consider that proof that atheists were smarter? No? Then why do you think your list proves anything?

You got Duane Gish in there! He's no biochemist! Just making shit up are we? Look at project Steve. A list of scientists supporting evolution. It's longer than yours even though we only allow scientists named Steve onto it! Lol

belief in god and jesus aren't unintelligent they are just irrational.

it just happens that the majority of christians have a tendency to be stupid.

appeal to popularity fallacy.

At one time in history, it was an extreme minority who believed the earth revolved around the sun.
At one time in history, it was an extreme minority who believed the earth was not flat.

Far more people than you listed who were considered intelligent and well educated for their time believed the earth was the center of the universe, and/or that the earth was flat.

The belief in myths and intelligence are not mutually exclusive, but the individual's capability for rational reasoning is made suspect when they believe in something as outlandish as the story of Jesus.

Although a list either way proves nothing, how many scientists of the world have you accounted for in that relatively short list?

Perfectly true, no doubt - and I admit to unjust simplifications.

Believers are only stupid within a narrow sphere. Outside that, many of them are quite smart.

Allow me to cite Dr. I Mukerjee (Biochemistry), Dr. S Chandra (Chemistry), Ms. B Sivakumar MSc (Immunology) and Dr. A Premkumar (Molecular Biology) all personally known to me, all of whom are Hindus.

And there are thousands more Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims all with science and engineering degrees ranging from BSc to PhD.

Phd'S particularly Phd's from backwoods american so called universitys are no gurantee of rationality, indeed my daughter has one from the most prestigious universtiy in Australia. Neither her nor any of her friends while highly intelligent are particularly rational, particularly on those matters outside of their chosen field. They are academics they compartmentalise everything but the matters pertaining to their particular field and simply dont think about them.
