Hi I'm a native Japanese guy recently moved in the US.
I often see American people put soy sauce on their rice in Japanese restaurant.
Why do you do that? it's tasty?
That's not authentic Japanese style. it's a kind of bad manner in Japan.
FYI, yes, it's true that we can find soy sauce bottle on a table of many Japanese restaurant.
But it doesn't mean the restaurant owner put it for rice. It's for sushi, sashimi, broiled fish and so on.
Actually, we can also find the bottle at many restaurants of JAPAN. But we don't use it for rice.
I'm not offensive at all, just out of my curiosity.
I personally think it's OK if you guys feel it's tasty.
Thanks!
