Why do all Greeks have restaurants and all Pakistani's have corner stores?

What is with this trend? What is behind it? How did it come about like this? Why JUST restaurants or corner stores and nothing else?

I am not trying to be a bigot! It is a sincere and legitimate question. You cannot deny that if you meet a Greek chances are that someone in their family owns a restaurant, or several. I am just trying to figure out why.

I know Greek girl, her Dad is a dentist. I know a Pakistani and his parents run a Shell station.
