Why do adults read books that are clearly intended for children? such as Twilight and

Harry Potter? I have the mother of the children for whom I babysit speaking about Twilight saga as if it were Shakespeare, which is not only blasphemy but also, I'm positive she's never read any Shakespeare. Also, her kids are 3 and 4 year old boys, who have no interest in Twilight so don't say it's to keep up with the kids.

This seems to happen alot. I had to explain to a 22 year old why Eragon is not my favorite book ever.

Please, adults who read books clearly intended for children, explain to me why you do so and I'll stop already.
