Why do a lot of people hate Hummers or Other SUV's?

I'm buying an H2 soon & all I've heard is how I'm an asshole don't I know what I'll be doing to the environment & that I'll have paint thrown onto it or windows smashed out or tires popped & I must be trying to make up for my small penis. Now I've always loved SUV's I grew up around all types of them from almost every maker & my favorite is the H2 I've loved the H1 & now I have the chance to buy the H2 & I buying it because there are many compelling and legitimate reasons to own an SUV, not to be king of the road or bully smaller cars or damage the environment. There are some Super Cars that get the same mileage as the H2, & if your gonna start somewhere shouldn't you began with 18 wheelers, no matter what anyone says I'll be driving an H2 soon & I'll deal with all the shit I'll be getting but I think people like that should start with the bigger Gas Guzzlers & Environmental Killers than a few thousand H2's & other SUV's I don't have any issues with people who are "tree huggers" or anything like that I just think they should start at the right place & get off the back of SUV drivers
And don't give me that Bull about gas If I was worried about it I wouldn't be buying A H2, & there are another things in the world that are more "Ungreen" than an H2 so please with the Bull
 
who cares about that, it is going to drink alot of gas and you are going to have to fill it up very often, and it is alot of money to get to one place to another, if this isnt a problem then go for it
 
many people think that it uses too much gas, but its not like we are going to run out of gas anytime soon so that shouldn't be a problem. and a little toyota 1.6l two door will have to pass the same emission tests as you, so its not any less green than one of those things.
i have never been a fan of hummers because ive always thought that if you want an off road vehicle you should buy a jeep because you can build an amazing jeep for $10,000 (and it would go a lot more places than a big hummer) whereas a hummer costs WAY more than that. And if you want a people carrying / towing vehicle you should buy a ford excursion or a suburban or something.
I don't have a problem with hummers i just think that there isn't as much practical use for one as compared to a jeep or another SUV that has more power and probably better efficiency.
If you want one then get it. and im glad you are buying american not some Mitsubishi crap.
 
I think a lot of it comes down to jealousy. They can't afford to buy one or put the gas in it. Thier are those envirnmenatlists too. Like you said their are other vehicles that get poorer MPG.

hummers are about the most 'ungreen' thing on wheels, on top of the 30,000+ dollars your paying for it you gonna be broke trying to fill the tank. hope you have a fat wallet
 
People think they pollute and suck gas. The funny thing is my Neighbor idles his little Civic Hybrid for 30 minutes every morning to warm it up. Hes putting of more Co2's then me who just jumps in and goes.
