Why do a lot of people complain that Hollister and A&F sizes are too small ~?

Just wondering, why do so many complain their clothes are made for slim people only?? Their sizes almost the same as any other clothing store you'd go into.

I'm 5'5" 129lbs, curvy/athletic body and I wear S (occasionally XS), so a L is actually pretty big, so how could some people not fit/find their sizes there... unless they're actually VERY overweight, in which case, this isn't a plus sized store.

I agree completely! I am extremely fat, disgustingly so, actually (5'7 145) and their clothes fit me fine!Their sizes seem to be normal to me. I really don't understand why people complain that they are too small.
