Why didn't Barry and Michelle ride their bikes?

Why did they use a jet to go on a date? Isn't this sacrilegious in the environmental bible. They want us all to take the bus while they travel by jet!

If they had, the right would have complained about the extra security required to follow them biking. And of course, there would have been road closings, and biking such a long way at night isn't exactly safe. And the obvious, they'd be kind of sweaty for a date. There is no making the right happy.
