My opinion is it's just not Toyota's market. The Supra was indeed a good car, and what I mean is probably too good for Toyota. Toyota markets to the guy that really doesn't know anything about vehicles, much less performance. Most Toyota customers would be frightened to death to ride in such a car under full throttle. It just didn't suite them.
More advanced? Well, yeah relatively speaking but you have to also keep in mind that one of Toyota's little gimmicks is the 'holier than thou' attitude they try so desperately to uphold.
