Why did the news provide misleading information regarding Palin's announcement?

The 1st thing I heard from numerous sources was:

"Palin's not seeking reelection"

then, a little while later, I heard reports saying:

"Palin's resigning effective July 25th."

Well why didn't they just say that to begin with?
If she's resigning, that would also imply she is not seeking reelection.
I think the fact that she's resigning is a much bigger headline than whether she seeks reelection!

Which ones? Don't use them in the future. The first headline I saw was that she'd resigned. Actually, I heard that on the radio, so...there you go. Listen to the radio.

Edit: Oh yeah, in hindsight if you listen to that sprawling speech you know which are the important points (because now you've been told what to listen for)...it IS a long and very unfocused speech filled with trite platitudes and obscure references (everybody should have a baby like Trig). It's no wonder it took editors some time to tease out the important content. And just like the first reports of MJs death came out as "he was taken to a hospital", you have to go with the breaking story as it comes and find the important details when you've had time to tease them apart.

News is not nor ever has been a factual media.

If you are looking for the truth, you must glean it from the misinformation media and filter it through your brain.

Also, keep in mind that their aim is to keep you engaged and tuned-in to their station.

In the end, it is up to the individual to determine fact from fiction, and occasionally fact from misinformation.

God Bless America!

She will return, stronger than ever. When the liberals realize we made a huge mistake electing Obama. If he took 10% of the abuse that Palin did the liberals would be crying racism. Since Palin is a strong independent person she will endure.

That's the way her speech went. She said upfront she's not seeking re-election, then after rambling about basketball and dead fish for several minutes, said she's quitting in the next few weeks.

I do not know. I do know however, that you appear to have overreacted to the manner in which a simple news story was reported. If this is the biggest problem in your life you are blessed.

Because they did not know the full facts when they produced the first story.

Palin let it be known on her Twitter page that she was not going to stand for re-election. It was only later that she let people know she was going to be resigning.

The main stream media not telling the truth and
being misleading. Oh come now. The main reason is that they have forgotten what journalism is and only know what or should say how to do something that is not right for the most part.
They fail to do the job of a journalist but try to do a job of a rag mag. reporter!

Because they wanted Jared to get prepared for Palin's resignation. They knew he would be broken hearted if the news was blurted out to him all at once. Sorry Jared. Cheer up.
