1 Samuel 15:3
Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.
In the Old Testament (Jewish Bible) God commands his people to commit genocide. He even tells them to kill all the animals as well. How can you reconcile a good God with a God who orders a genocide?
Christians, don't tell me that the Old Testament is obsolete. You quote from there when it suits you. In addition, your God is supposed to have always been perfectly good. Genocide can't be a good thing then or now. Some things may have changed but I'll never believe that changed.
And don't tell me they were all evil and deserved to be destroyed. Infants aren't evil. They haven't had time to be corrupted by (supposedly) evil parents. If they are evil and deserving of death then God must have made them that way, which would be just as evil. He even said to slaughter the animals. There's no way to convince me the animals were evil.
Don't chalk it up to God's mysterious ways. That's not mysterious. That's evil. And its not an answer. Saying it's mysterious is the same as saying "I don't know". If you don't know don't answer.
