friend was driving new kawasaki 2008 zx10 and upon acceleration the front tire locked up and turned to the left, causing him to have an awful accident. i'm looking for a reason to why this could have happened. the weather is clear & dry, not even humid. Road is paved. No visible oil or liquids on road at site of accident. What if anything could be the cause of this. A malfunction with the motorcycle? Tampering, if so what would have been tampered with?
Thank you for your help.

Hmmm, a new bike and a locked up brake. Were the bike old with filthy brake fluid I could see that happening but not with a new bike. How long has your friend been riding? I know a lot of people like to keep a finger or two on the brake lever while they're riding (including myself). In addition, new sport bikes have tremendously powerful brakes and just a finger or two is all it takes to lock them up. Could he have been riding with his finger on the brake lever, wanted to show off, rolled back on the throttle suddenly forgetting the finger on the brake and bam!, lockup? Once the wheel stops turning, they will go right, left or any direction. Sounds to me like operator error and a lesson learned.

Probably the nut behind the wheel.

Unless a bolt came loose or such, there is no reason for a new bike to do this.
