Liberate the Falklands
Was it because she wanted to help that small gaggle of British citizens that did not want to ruled by Argentina?
Was it because the Falklands sits on some of the largest Oil and Gas deposits left in the world (though at the moment, so deep that it is uneconomic to process)?
Was it because her popularity was at rock bottom and she needed a boost to her ratings?
Was it all of these things or perhaps something completely different?

So what you are saying is that if, say, Argentina was occupying Ireland, then they would be fully justified to continue to do so as long as those inhabitants wanted to remain with Argentina?

Please dont tell me you honestly believe that!
Lets not forget, in the 74 days duration of this conflict
Injuries
1188 Argentinian
777 British
Deaths
3 civilian women (friendly fire)
255 British servicemen
649 Argentinian servicemen
Given the time scale, these figures make shocking reading

And why not, of what possible use is the Malvinas to us?

Thatcher did not have to go to war.
Negotiations were on going, she sacked a member of her own cabinet for talking peace with the Argentinians.
She sunk the Belgranno which at the time was steaming away from the task force but Thatcher knew it would force the war.
As for the number of dead compared to Iraq and Afghanistan. Look at the duration and the number of dead and casualties the Falklands created, then apply the same ratio to the present conflicts time scale, Thatcher would be classed as a mass murderer
