...Love For FDR, Truman, JFK? It was common to hear Republicans like Reagan, Kirkpatrick, and Ford say how much they love "old-fashioned" Democrats, like FDR/Truman/JFK, while saying that the Democrats of today (LBJ, Carter, Clinton) share nothing in common with them.
Do they know that FDR/Truman/JFK all supported universal health care (aka "socialized medicine), labor programs (Truman opposed the Republican-led Taft-Hartley Act), and welfare aid - JFK talking about "medicine for the aged."
Why do these Republicans say, then, that they love these "traditional" Democrats?
