Why did President Obama choose Northeastern University as the location to

nominate Att. Gen. Martha Coakley? I don't understand why President Obama would choose a school like Northeastern in order to help campaign for Attorney General Martha Coakley. I mean why not Harvard or MIT? Another intriguing piece of information is that so many politicians, like Bill Clinton, chose this school over Harvard and MIT to hold rallies for their campaign. What makes Northeastern, a not-so-famous school, so special? I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can tell me why.

Apparently it is where they all go to pull their "We're just one of the people" gigs.

It's all show Biz.. Everyone in it for the buck and the fame.. no one cares, really cares about America except ordinary Americans.. and our politicians have long ago stopped being that.

I think Northeastern was chosen not because of its reputation, but it is centrally located in downtown Boston. The people in those districts are mainly working class and not the upper echelon you get with Harvard. They will get more exposure in choosing N.U. over either MIT or Harvard.
Another important fact is that Harvard Square is known as the Socialists republic of Massachusetts to the locals… I lived most of my life in Ma.

He chose NU simply because it is the only school in MA that does not shut down for Winter Break. There might be enough students left on campus (on work/study) to cheer him on. My husband is a graduate of NU who said that he will no longer donate to them after today.
