Why did my Kicker subs cut off?

I don't know much about audio, but I have 2 12 Kicker Comp VR subs and a 800 watt Fusion amp that I've had in my car for years and never had a problem. Today both subs cut out and I don't know why? I checked the wiring and everything seems to be plugged in just fine. I checked the fuse thats in the amp and thats fine and theres a fuse under my hood that I checked and it looks fine too. My deck allows me to put sub volume and bass to +6, but I keep both on -3! Any suggestions or advice?
I'm lost, so both subs can be blown at the same time? My last pair of subs, one got blown, but the other was still working!?!?
 
Check the Voice Coils with a dmm to check that they are not blown. You can do this by checking the resistance of the voice coil, if it comes back 0, or close to 0, then they are blown.
