Why did my financial aid decrease if my EFC is 0?

I filed my FAFSA in January of 2009 for the 2009-10 school year. The school revised my award letter a total of 3 times now. I am considered independent and also have a child. My EFC score was and still is 0 and the college decreased my aid to the point where I have to take out loans on my own to pay for the costs. They claim that an EFC of 0 is too high to qualify for aid.
I appreciate your answers! My EFC is still 0. I have tried contacting the financial aid office (emailing, calling, etc), but they refuse to return my emails or phone calls. I would go there myself, but the actual campus is 2 1/2 hours away. I attend a site established by them.
Also, I am enrolled full time and attend year round with no breaks.

The only way to get a definite, accurate answer is to speak with your financial aid adviser.

My guess is that your school's requirements or funding has changed.

Your federal grant and loan eligibility should have not changed.
