Why did Jack O'Connell decline the "Yes on 8" invitation to a debate?

Perhaps because he does not have a leg to stand on, and knows for a fact that all schoolage children will be susceptible to same-sex marriage inculcation? My own wife also confirms that, and she's a kindergarten teacher!!
California has the strongest civil union/domestic partnership law in the nation, and Proposition 8 does not take away any of those rights.
VOTE YES ON 8!!

Schools are teaching the truth. Trying to change the truth is not the way to go if you want to stop teaching about gay marriage in schools.

What then? They will just start teaching kids about Civil Union for homosexual. Nothing will change

Yes on Prop 8 would amend the California constitution to include discrimination. This is a HUGE step backward.
Do you really think that your children can be taught to 'be gay'? Is that what you're worried about? Because that's not how it works. And teaching tolerance and acceptance are NOT bad things.

Prop 8 writes discrimination into the constitution. The constitution is meant to protect the rights of citizens, not take them away.

Everyone who believes in fairness needs to vote NO on Prop 8.

No, he might live in a all conservative town.

Why would anyone vote for 8. Because they don't believe in the constitution and believe in Mob rule. I say leave the states and move to England where as a mob can change their constitution or what ever they call it.

Amen! I completely agree with you. My husband and I have discussed that if Prop. 8 doesn't pass, we will move to Alaska, Texas or Florida. We have an 18 month old child and we do not want her to be taught something in school that is acceptable when at home she is being is being told that God does not approve and is says so in the Bible. Marrage is a religous ceremony!

If that is true, why isn't it being taught now. There is no prop 8 and there is no same sex marriage taught in schools.

I just do not believe in taking someones right away....as for civil unions if it is so great they why did you get married....why didn't you just have a civil union.

I am voting no. I hope it does not pass....but it probably will.

My neighbor wants to vote no on 8.

But my neighbor is excessively "fond" of his horse too.
