Why did Itunes hike up the price?

Why did it go from 99 cents to 1.29? I know it's not much but for one song 1.29 is a little too high. I'm seriously about to start using frostwire
 
They think that they can take advantage of people in the bad economy. A big company like itunes wants people to think that in this economy that they need to raise their prices but fact is they really don't. But if you want to still pay the 99 cents then when you search a song that you like, a lot of them will have the same song, but on another album (an older one) and will only be 99cents Haha two can play that game itunes.
